On 20th April 2026, Lukiza Autism Foundation paid a visit to His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of Revolutionary Council at State House Zanzibar.
During the meeting, H.E President Mwinyi commended the Foundation for the tremendous work being done to support children with autism. He acknowledged that autism remains a growing challenge and emphasized the need for deliberate government action.
Meanwhile, Executive Director Hilda Nkabe reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to creating awareness through their biggest Autism awareness campaigns: the Run 4 Autism Tanzania Half Marathon, annual Autism Awareness Charity Gala and ongoing projects aimed at early identification and intervention, women's wellness, rehabilitation and community education. She stressed that autism is not caused by superstition or sacrifice rituals — it is a health condition.
