Our mission
About & history
Empowering individuals on the autism spectrum and their families through education, advocacy, and comprehensive support.
Lukiza Autism Foundation was created with the vision of bridging gaps in autism support and understanding. We aim to promote awareness and empower autistic individuals through tailored programs and community initiatives.
Over the years, we have expanded from a small initiative into a recognized autism support organization, offering essential services from early intervention to youth empowerment, reaching families across communities.
Looking ahead, we strive to broaden our impact by deepening our support programs, engaging with schools and community groups, and fostering partnerships to create a truly inclusive society.

Inception
Lukiza Autism Foundation was founded and registered under the Ministry of Health on March 25, 2020, by Ms. Hilda Nkabe, a mother of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Purpose and Vision: The activities and programmes that have been available are far from adequate given the scale and complexity of the problems facing individuals with Autism in Tanzania. The work of civil society does not sufficiently address the multi-faceted problems confronting this particular group of Tanzanian Individuals. LuAF needed to exist to fill a gap that many children and young people have been falling through unnoticed.
