Sponsor A Therapy to Children With Autism
We plan to sponsor therapies to children with Autism who hail from low-income families.
Overview
Like other neuro typical children, children with Autism deserve the right to free or affordable quality education in clean and safe environments, with caring and qualified special needs teachers and caretakers. Most parents with Children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have challenges in finding and affording such special needs schools.
Autism is a Lifelong medical condition with no cure, where symptom first appears in children under the age of 5. Children with Autism need specialized therapies like occupational therapy, speech therapy and behavioral therapy, however these therapies are expensive
Objective
Funds allowing, we plan to sponsor Children from centers such as Msimbazi Mseto and Mbuyuni Primary School Autism Centers in Dar es Salaam who are in desperate need for therapies. The cost of one therapy session is about TZS 20,000 per 20 minutes in government centers/hospitals and up to TZS 50,000 per 45 minutes session in Private Centres; which can amount up to TZS 1,000,000 a month for one type of therapy and about TZS 10,000,000 annually per child per one type of therapy. One Child needs multiple therapies. This is a great burden on the side of parents even for those deemed financially secure.

Please donate to help Lukiza Autism Foundation organize and sponsor assessments and therapies with a view for early intervention, elimination and reduce symptoms/indicators of Autism and improve quality of life of Children with Autism, and to relieve parents/guardians with the burden and challenges of raising a child with Autism by providing assistance in social, educational, medical and financial support as well as information on services available.
