This was Lukiza Autism Foundation’s first event after getting its registration end of March 2020 and after the first wave of COVID-19

The purpose of this Fundraising event was first and foremost was to raise awareness of about Autisms and highlight the challenges faced by individuals with Autism and their families. Furthermore was to raise funds in order to support Autism Awareness Campaigns and support therapies

Currently, LuAF have a list of 11 Children from Msimbazi Mseto and Mbuyuni Primary School Autism Centers in Dar es Salaam who are in desperate need for therapies. The cost of one therapy session is about TZS 20,000 per 20 minutes in government centers/hospitals and up to TZS 50,000 per 45 minutes session in Private Centres; which can amount up to TZS 1,000,000 a month for one type of therapy and about TZS 10 million per child per therapy One Child needs multiple therapies. This is a great burden on the side of parents even for those deemed financially secure.

Being a Non-Profit Organization, we depend on donations from family, friends and other organizations and businesses.

To do much more and even to sustain what we currently offer, we solely depend on volunteers, people of goodwill and organizations who donate to our projects from time to time. Once well established, we are planning to have cash generating projects.

For this reason we humbly appeal to you to consider us as your charity of choice when making donations as an individual and as an organization. With every donation you make you can be sure that a child with autism from a poor family gets access to services they need so much and awareness of autism is spread more and more.
